Harbour Air Terminal Coming to Oceanfront Squamish
Words By Daren Clark – Harbour Air’s Whistler Base Manager and Training Captain and proud Squamish resident | Visuals By Matthew West
Harbour Air has been working closely with the development team at Oceanfront Squamish to develop a floatplane terminal for the community of Squamish. The terminal is awaiting District of Squamish approval with the intention to begin servicing the community by 2021.
Founded in 1982 with two small seaplanes, Harbour Air has grown to become the world’s first and only carbon neutral airline and an integral part of the transportation infrastructure across the province. As a vital transportation link across coastal BC, we are looking forward to becoming a valuable and integral part of the Squamish community for years to come.
Currently operating 16 scheduled service routes across the province, the initial service will connect Squamish with direct flights between our downtown Vancouver and Victoria terminals, and provide access for private charter flights. As a growing and thriving community in the Sea-to-Sky corridor, we are looking forward to supporting the community’s ongoing development and helping welcome travellers, commuters and adventures alike to the “Adventure Capital of Canada.”
